Virtual Spectator PlayTrac is a software only system for tracking individuals playing team sports. The system enables the coach or sports enthusiast to do time and motion analysis on individuals within the game.

MANAGEMENT

PlayTrac is a sophisticated database driven application that enables the software administrator to establish and maintain player lists, team lists, match lists, venues, competitions and all other aspects of player tracking for analysis purposes. This system has been intentionally designed to be as generic as possible. This empowers the user with maximum flexibility in modifying the system to suit their particular requirements.

Whether it be for AFL, Soccer, NFL, Basket Ball, Netball, Hockey or any other team sport, PlayTrac is the simplest, most effective way of tracking individuals yet. And because there is no expensive hardware involved, it is very cost effective.

Data collected by PlayTrac can be used for animated on-screen displays or printed off in a variety of report formats.

THE WAY IT WORKS

PlayTrac works by synchronizing data together into a central database from individual tracking sessions performed on separate notebook PC's. Each notebook can track one player and at the conclusion of the tracking session(s) all notebook tracking data can be synchronized into the central database for playback and analysis.

Although each player must be tracked with a mouse, the computer calculates everything else so that the operator only need to keep their eyes on the target being tracked.

Using this method, as few as one notebook PC can be used to track several players over time. Each tracking session is databased separately so that the operator can swap and change who they wish to track during the same game or on different days.

RECORDING

Recording or "Tracking" player movements is performed in the PlayTrac recording module and is easy to do, even for the first time user. The user chooses:

The time period for the tracking session
The Team
The Player
The Player Position (Attack/Defense)
The direction his team is playing to

Once the time clock is started, the user simply follows the player by clicking the graphical representation of the playing surface. All data is automatically databased. User configurable actions such as kicks, passes, goal shots etc. can be collected simultaneously through single button stats collection. This data is then time stamped and included with the track data in the database.

PLAYBACK

Once the tracking data has been collected, it can be viewed in an animated playback module or printed off in the reporting module. Player comparisons are possible on printed reports enabling the coach to see instantly the individual differences between team members or opponents.

The system enables the user to "Focus" on an individual player for animated feedback or data including:

Distance traveled
Calories burnt
% of time spent in each activity
% Distance traveled in each activity
Simulated heart rate for each activity based on age and resting heart rate input in the player
    management module

The sequence can be fast forwarded through time and several players movements may be viewed simultaneously. Actions such as kick, passes, shots at goal etc. are shown live and time stamped accordingly. (If they were collected during the recording session).

REPORTING

Numerous printed and screen display reports are available for instant retrieval. The system will compare player performance over time and enable the operator to report on entire games or individual sessions. You can even compare historical game data with current data.
