Virtual Spectator conducts a complete hole-by-hole
survey of each golf course and digitally reproduces
a 3D model of every tee, green, bunker and fairway,
complete with trees and other significant features.
Only Virtual Spectator Golf Vision offers this
degree of accuracy and detail.
Virtual Spectator Golf Vision is modular in
design to enable tailoring a package of Golf Vision
graphics that best meets the requirements of each
tournament. This flexibility provides the broadcaster
with the tools to enhance the viewing experience
and provide commentators with a set of analysis
options not possible with other systems.
Using "Virtual Reality" simulations, Virtual
Spectator Golf Vision will provide the following
analysis capabilities in “Real Time”:
FAIRWAYS
Virtual Fly Overs of
all 18 holes
Each Hole is selected from an interactive
menu system and gives the commentary team the
opportunity to explain the nuances of each hole
as it is depicted in animation.
Hole Analyzer - 2D Fly-down
Each hole fly-down is supported by
a 2D representation of the entire hole showing
all major features. An animated line focuses the
viewers’ attention on where they are in 3D space.
No-Go zone analysis
No-Go or “Red Zones” can be placed
where the commentators indicate danger for the
players on each hole. The system can pause for
NGZ analysis, display distance to reach and carry
the NGZ before continuing to the green.
Players perspective analysis
Take the viewer where the player is,
whether stuck in a deep bunker or behind a protruding
tree, Golf Vision will show you what the cameras
cannot.
Real time ball placement
Real Time Ball Placement allows for
Real Time comparison of players shots. Each players
shot can be animated to from his or her playing
partners giving the viewer a unique perspective
on the difficulty faced by each player.
Ball placements can be made visually off camera
shots enabling a single operator system to reduce
costs or an optional automated “DataLink” pocket
PC ball placement system can be deployed using
ball spotters on course.
Ball Position - hole
overview
Ball Positions for each player can
be superimposed on the 2D overview for each animation.
Odometer & Contour Worm
Unique to Golf Vision is our animating
odometer counting the distance to the pin and
another feature only available through Golf Vision,
the contour worm which graphically displays rise
and fall of the fairway terrain. The contour display
window also accurately calculates the height differential
between Tee and Green.
Distance to front of
NGZ
No Go Zones are the real danger zones
on each hole and Golf Vision gives the viewer
their first indication as to whether a player
will make the distance or be able to clear the
zone.
Distance to carry NGZ
Fly to Ball
The fly to ball capability of Golf
Vision enables the broadcaster to selectively
analyze a single player from anywhere on the hole.
Fly to Green
This is a unique view of the hole that
gives the viewer a better understanding of ball
flight to the hole and what the player can expect
along the way.
Crane up/down
Stuck behind a tree or in a deep bunker,
crane up and see the target. It’s what every golfer
would like to be able to do.
Slide-on, slide-off Drive
Analyzer
Used in conjunction with a DVE, the
Drive Analyzer will give the viewer a first hand
look at where the player should be aiming and
what to avoid.
GREENS
360 Degree views of all
Greens
Full 360 Degree 3D Spin around of greens
with noticeable contour is possible at the push
of a button. This is particularly useful for explaining
break and contour and for putt comparison between
players.
Green contour analysis
Green contour is graphically displayed
with animating arrows to give the viewer a full
appreciation of the break and fall some of the
championship greens have.
Interactive Pin placement
Each days pin placement is accurately
plotted each morning and because the system is
completely interactive, special events where pins
change twice a day present no problem.
God View
The God View gives viewers a plan view
of the green and surrounds and is a good starting
point for the 360 degree green or putting analysis.
Green Dimensions
Green Dimensions are displayed to graphically
indicate pin position.
Putt Analysis
Distance to pin for each players ball
on the green can be displayed, each ball can be
animated to enabling the viewer to gauge the difficulty
of each putt.
UNIQUE TO GOLF VISION
Actual terrain survey
Every hole is professionally surveyed
to accurately reflect the terrain for each fairway,
bunker, green or lake.
Actual trees
Every tree on the course is digitally
photographed and accurately placed to ensure that
a true representation of each hole is achieved.
Strategic 3D like trees
New to Golf Vision is the addition
of strategic 3D like trees. 3D like trees can
be placed where necessary to further enhance the
simulated experience.
Unequalled Experience
Virtual Spectator offers unequalled
experience based on a 8 year development period
and proven track record with Major Australian
and international broadcasters.
Proprietary Real-Time
Render System
Virtual Spectator uses a proprietary
real-time render system to instantly take the
viewer to where the golfer is. Because the system
uses terrain maps accurately surveyed to 2mm over
2km, Golf Vision is the only system on the market
today that provides real-time, totally accurate
virtual views for golf tournaments.
Totally Portable
Golf Vision is a totally portable solution
requiring only 1 notebook PC and a graphics server
for operation.
16 x 9 or 4 x 3
Wide Screen Digital format is now available
through Golf Vision at the click of a button.
Player Names
Golf Vision now contains a data base
of players in each tournament enabling the player
names or even photo’s to be displayed next to
each shot being analyzed.
Sponsor Opportunities
Whether it be sponsor logo’s on the
grass or animated sponsored blimps, Golf vision
can be programmed to provide the sponsor with
unequalled exposure. Because Golf Vision is Real-Time,
sponsor packages based on each days play can be
implemented.
Entire Course Overview
The entire course layout can be displayed
with the ability to zoom in on the hole of interest.
Wind direction can be over-laid on the overview.
Real-Time ball placement
with or without on course spotters
Utilizing “DataLink”, on course spotters
can transmit ball placements back to the broadcast
center for display via Golf Vision. Alternatively
a single operator can place balls at the Broadcast
Center from camera views.
